Terms of Service for Abeduls

1. Acceptance of terms

Using Abeduls means accepting these terms and agreeing to follow them. If you act for an organization or family group, you must have authority to accept this agreement on their behalf.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information and the choices you have about it.

2. Looking after your account

Please give us accurate account information and keep your sign-in details safe, to help protect your memories. You are responsible for activity under your account and the content you store there.

You can register with a password or choose Google sign-in; our Privacy Policy explains Google permissions, their limits and how to disconnect Google.

If you think someone has gained access to your account, email support@abeduls.com immediately so we can help secure your memories.

3. Your content and permissions

Your memories are yours: you keep all rights to the stories, photos, videos, audio and other content you upload. We do not claim ownership of them.

When you store content here, you give us a limited license to host, process and display it only for the features you choose. That covers capsule opening conditions, collaboration and sharing according to your settings. You must have the rights and permissions to upload and share that content.

The collaborators and recipients you choose can see content within your permissions and opening conditions; our Privacy Policy explains sharing and public content.

This content license does not expand how we may use information from Google APIs; our Privacy Policy sets out the Google policy and Limited Use commitments we follow.

4. Using Abeduls with care

Please use Abeduls in ways that protect other people and their memories. You must not misuse it or help anyone else do so.

Do not upload unlawful content, interfere with Abeduls services, bypass access controls or reverse engineer security features. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or put other people at risk.

5. Plans, payments and renewals

You can cancel your paid plan whenever you need to. Paid subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and your plan stays active through the end of the current billing cycle.

The Abeduls pricing page describes prices, limits and included features. We will tell you about material changes at least 30 days in advance.

If we cannot process a payment, we may suspend your account until the balance is resolved.

6. Account closure and data deletion

You can request account deletion in Settings. Your account closes right away and you are signed out everywhere.

You have 30 days to change your mind. Sign in before your scheduled deletion date and choose Restore my account. Signing in alone does not restore it.

After that date, your memories, capsules and files are permanently deleted, subject to the sealed capsule and retention rules below.

Sealed capsules intended for other people are delivered by default and deleted after opening plus a grace period. You can choose to delete them instead, so their recipients will never receive them. Sealed capsules only for you are always deleted.

7. When Abeduls is available

We want Abeduls to be there when you return to your memories. We aim to keep it available 24/7 and give advance notice of scheduled maintenance, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access.

We may change features, discontinue services or suspend access for security or operational reasons. If we discontinue a feature, we will give reasonable notice and help you request a copy of eligible account information and content.

We can only provide copies allowed by your access rights, capsule opening rules and the law.

8. Disclaimers and limits on liability

If something goes wrong, these terms set limits on what we can be responsible for. We provide Abeduls “as is”, without warranties of any kind.

Where the law allows, neither Abeduls nor its affiliates are liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages from your use of Abeduls.

For any claim related to Abeduls, our total liability cannot exceed what you paid us in the 12 months before that claim.

9. Governing law

These terms follow the laws of the Province of Ontario and the Canadian federal laws that apply there. Courts in Toronto, Ontario handle disputes, unless consumer protection laws require a different court.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, and we will tell you about material changes by email or in Abeduls. If you keep using Abeduls after the changes take effect, you accept the updated terms.
