Privacy Policy for Abeduls

1. Information we collect

We collect the information you share with us and the details needed to keep Abeduls working for you.

• Your account: we collect your name, email address, profile image when provided, account identifiers, and sign-in and session records. If you use a password, our sign-in service stores a protected version called a password hash.
• Your memories: we store the text, photos, audio, videos, files and designs you add, along with filenames and related details called metadata. We also store capsule opening conditions and the email addresses and permissions of people you invite.
• Your plan: we keep subscription status, payment and transaction references, and the information needed to manage your plan. Our payment provider handles payment details.
• When you ask for help: we collect the contact details, messages and information you send us so we can respond.
• To keep Abeduls working and protect accounts, we collect IP addresses, browser and device details, timestamps, activity records, and error and security logs.
• Cookies and similar technologies help you sign in, keep your place and remember your preferences; see our Cookie Policy for details and choices.

2. Information received from Google

You can choose Google sign-in if it makes returning to your memories easier. It is optional, and Google asks permission to share basic account information with us. We request the openid, email and profile permissions to sign you in.

These permissions do not give us access to Gmail messages, Google Drive files, Google Photos, contacts or calendars. Signing in with Google does not import files or memories from those services.

We use Google access, refresh and ID tokens during sign-in, then discard them before saving your linked account. We do not store these tokens. We keep your Google Account identifier and profile information for future sign-ins; Abeduls session records are separate from Google tokens.

• Google Account identifier: we use Google's unique identifier to create or link your account and recognize you when you return.
• Name: we use the name or full name Google shares to show your account profile.
• Email address: we use it for your account and to send account and service messages.
• Email verification status: we use this to check whether Google has verified the address you use to sign in.
• Profile picture URL: if Google shares an image address, we use it to display your profile picture.

3. Google user data at a glance

Here is a short summary of how Abeduls handles the information Google shares with us when you choose Google sign-in. The sections below give the full details.

• What we access: your Google Account identifier, name, email address, whether that email is verified, and your profile picture URL. We request only the openid, email and profile permissions. We cannot see your Gmail, Google Drive, Google Photos, contacts or calendars.
• How we use it: only to create or link your Abeduls account, sign you in, show your profile, and send you account and service messages. We never use it for advertising or to train AI models.
• How we store and protect it: we keep it in our secure account systems, protect it in transit with HTTPS, and limit who can access it. We discard Google access, refresh and ID tokens after sign-in and do not store them.
• Who we share it with: no one, except the service providers that run our infrastructure on our behalf, or when the law requires it. We never sell it or share it with advertisers or data brokers.
• How long we keep it and how to delete it: we keep it while your account is active. You can ask us to delete it at any time: see Account and data deletion or email support@abeduls.com. You can also remove Abeduls from your Google Account whenever you like.

4. How we use your information

We use your information to help you save memories, share them with the people you choose and open capsules when the time comes.

• We create and manage your account, verify your identity, keep you signed in and prevent unauthorized access.
• We store and display your memories and designs, support collaboration and sharing, and check the opening conditions you set for capsules.
• We send invitations, capsule opening notices, account verification messages, security updates and replies when you ask for help.
• We manage subscriptions, payments and service limits so your plan works as described.
• We troubleshoot errors, maintain performance, investigate abuse or fraud, and meet our legal obligations.

5. Google API Services User Data Policy and Limited Use

We keep clear limits on how we use the information Google shares with us.

Abeduls's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

• We use your Google data only to provide or improve the account and sign-in features you use, as described in this policy.
• We never sell, rent or trade your Google data, or share it with advertising platforms or data brokers.
• We do not use your Google data to serve, target or personalize ads, or to retarget you. We never use it for credit decisions or lending.
• We do not use information from Google APIs to train, refine or improve generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
• We only transfer your Google data to provide or improve these features with your consent, for necessary security work, or to meet applicable law. A business transfer requires your explicit consent beforehand.
• A person may access specific Google data with your affirmative agreement, for necessary security investigations, or when the law requires it. People may also access aggregated data for internal operations within Google's Limited Use requirements.

6. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we share it only for the reasons below. Any sharing of your Google data also follows the Limited Use commitments in section 5.

• The providers who run our hosting, storage, email, payments and security process only the information needed to do that work for us.
• People you choose can see content and associated profile information according to their roles, your sharing settings and capsule opening conditions. If you make content public, other people can see it; please consider the personal information you include before publishing.
• We may disclose information when the law or a lawful request requires it, or to investigate abuse, prevent fraud, or protect you and Abeduls.

7. Data storage and security

We take care to protect your memories, while being honest about the limits of online storage.

We store your account details, including the profile information Google shares with us, in our own systems. Your memories and files are kept in secure storage, and your sign-in session is kept separately so you can stay signed in.

We use HTTPS to protect information while it travels between you and Abeduls. We check permissions so that only you and the people you choose can open your private memories. We limit access to personal information to what we need to run and support Abeduls. No online service or storage can guarantee complete security.

Our service providers may process or store your information outside the country where you live. This policy and our Google data commitments still apply to how we handle that information.

8. How long we keep information

We keep your account and Google sign-in information while your account is active, or while we need it for the reasons described in this policy or legal duties.

We keep your memories and files for as long as you need them, including until a capsule's opening date. When we no longer need information, we delete it or remove anything that identifies you.

You can request account deletion in Settings. Your account closes right away and you are signed out everywhere.

You have 30 days to change your mind. Sign in before your scheduled deletion date and choose Restore my account. Signing in alone does not restore it.

After that date, your memories, capsules and files are permanently deleted, subject to the sealed capsule and retention rules below.

Sealed capsules intended for other people are delivered by default and deleted after opening plus a grace period. You can choose to delete them instead, so their recipients will never receive them. Sealed capsules only for you are always deleted.

9. Your choices and revoking Google access

If you want to check or change the information we hold about you, we are here to help.

We reply to every privacy request within 30 days.

You can request account deletion in Settings. Section 8 explains what happens next.

• You can review or update account details and manage content you have permission to change, within capsule opening rules. To request access, correction or a copy of your personal information, email support@abeduls.com from your account address and describe your request.
• To stop using Google sign-in, open your Google Account linked apps page. Select Sign in with Google, choose Abeduls, then select See details. Select Stop using Sign in with Google, then Confirm. If Abeduls also appears under Access to your Google Account, open its details there. Select Remove access, then Confirm.
• Removing Abeduls from your Google Account stops future authorized access to your Google information. It does not delete information we already hold or close your account. To request that, follow our Account and data deletion steps.
• You can change sharing permissions for your memories and ask about other privacy rights where you live. You can also raise a concern with your local data protection authority.

10. Children and family memories

Your family memories may include children or other people whose privacy matters too. Only upload and share information you have the right to use, and consider their privacy when choosing recipients or making content public.

If you believe a child has shared personal information without appropriate consent, email support@abeduls.com so we can investigate and address it.

11. Changes to this policy

We will tell you when an important change affects how we handle your information.

We update this policy and its Last updated date when our practices change, and announce material changes through Abeduls or email.

Before any new use of Google data or request for additional Google permissions, we explain the change and obtain the required consent. We do this before accessing the data or using it in the new way.
